八年前，王进和丁玉广同时进的毛纺厂，又同时做了杨师傅的关门徒弟。故事开始的时候，杨师傅早已退休，王进已经在厂销售科干了好几年的销售，丁玉广则成了厂里的工程师。两个人都特别上进，而且又都喜欢上了师傅的女儿杨溪。 杨师傅对两个关门徒弟都很喜欢，师母更喜欢丁玉广，总觉得女儿将来和丁生活在一起才让人踏实。但师母意外地发现，杨溪却已经跟同住老院子里的王进“私订”了终身。 毛纺厂产品结构老化，近几年来效益一直不好。丁玉广从技改的角度研发了一种新型产品，但因为缺乏足够资金不能投入试生产。 王进则费了好大的劲，找到一家有投资意向的经销商。而就是为了拿下这个经销商，王进阴差阳错地身陷囹圄，继而又身败名裂。不得已憋着一口气远走它乡，企望出人头地后洗刷掉自己身上的所有污浊。杨溪不理解王进的行为，两人性格、生活观念上的差异让杨溪对王进彻底失去了信心。 七年后...。Roger Willoughby is considered to be a leading expert on sports fishing.
