To outwit the trappers and get to safety, Kate and Humphrey will need the help of a wild and wonderful group ...。東山紀之演じる刑事・天樹悠を中心とした個性的な刑事7人が、凶悪犯罪や未解決事件に挑むシリーズ第5弾。今回から天樹らが所属する「専従捜査班」が警察への信頼を取り戻すため、警視庁独自の部署として正式に発足される。前シリーズから引き続き、田辺誠一、倉科カナ、白洲迅、塚本高史、吉田鋼太郎、北大路欣也が出演。。公元2000年8月，葛城考察队到达南极，发现了地下空洞中的巨大人形生命体Adam以及隆基努斯之枪。葛城计划进行人类基因与Adam融合的接触实验，但不幸因此唤醒了沉睡中的Adam，葛成调查队拼死使用隆基努斯之枪再度封印Adam，但结果失败，最终，葛成调查队人为使Adam的S^2机关暴走（因为葛成调查队全灭，所以详细不明），总算避免了完全的败局——也就是A.T力场（A.T.Field）的消失（全部生命重新开始），以及由亚当诞生的生命架构的重新构筑。因为此事，亚当成为了零碎的肉片。。
