本剧描述一位年轻的单亲妈妈克莉丝蒂（安娜·法瑞丝饰演），在酗酒者互助会（AA）上遇到她久未见面的母亲邦妮（艾莉森·珍妮饰演）后，在纳帕山谷发生的新生活。。初到柏林，苦于找不到落脚之所的大一新生马丁意外得到他人帮忙，住进了一间小公寓。据称公寓的前房客已失踪，房间里还留着他大堆东西。简单收拾完屋子之后，马丁正在为自己终于可以睡在床上而庆幸时，他发现白天素未谋面的古怪女房东就跟他一墙之隔，从那边传来的娇羞喘息声，勾起了他内心的无限好奇……。During the cold and rainy off-season a man arrives in a seaside town and, giving his name only as Pierre, checks into the only hotel which remains open.
