1943年，中国共产党领导的抗日战争进入最艰苦时期。日本帝国主义和国民党反动派对我根据地实行双重打击。为发展和巩固抗日胜利果实，反对国民党的分裂，八路军边区剧社派曹火星、丁凯、肖静雨组成三人工作队，来到京西偏僻的歌谣之乡堂上村。 在通往堂上村的山路上，曹火星一行三人化装成小贩商人急走而来。堂上村刚刚遭受鬼子的扫荡，村里空无一人，一片狼籍。见村头杏儿家的房屋仍在着火，曹火星三人匆忙投入到灭火中。。A couple hires a live-in nanny to watch the offspring while they work.
