在1场婚礼上，Jimmy（克里斯·吉尔 Chris Geere 饰）被扫地出门，狼狈之时，他碰到了一个漂亮的女孩Gretchen（阿雅·卡什 Aya Cash 饰）。但这绝不是传统意义上的浪漫相遇，Jimmy自私毒舌，Gretchen不羁浪荡，一个是卖不出书的过气作家， 为人刻薄，在前女友婚礼上捣乱报复；一个是治理着一支乐队的经纪人，小毛病坏习惯一堆，私生活一塌糊涂。他们都不认真对待男女关系，都不想开始长久的感情。然而，以为绝不会再爱上别人的Jimmy和Gretchen，在一夜情之后，两人关系朝着他们无法控制的局面发生変化。。万剑山庄少主楚三郎，乃剑神楚仲庭之子，有妹楚湘儿及爱妻素芳。楚仲庭曾与独孤求败比武时将其推落山崖，后独孤求败有传人于峰前来报仇。楚仲庭又与杨正容有名利之仇，杨正容将素芳绑架，三郎赶去救援，被要挟斩断一臂，素芳为保全三郎而自杀。伤心的三郎离开山庄，渐与于峰成为朋友，又遇杨正容之妹杨咏雪和西夏公主宜妃，发展出另外一段感情。万剑山庄遭杨正容破坏，三郎帮助父亲重建山庄。最后众人又卷入小皇爷争夺王位的宫廷阴谋中，除了楚湘儿，所有人都牺牲了。。。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
