When the monks living at a small rural monastery face it being transformed into a hotel due to the lack of income, a newcomer monk convinces them their only chance is teaching them soccer。该剧改编自姜昌来作家的同名随笔，是一本为患癌症的妻子做料理时写下的笔记。讲述丈夫为被诊断为晚期癌症的妻子准备饭桌，逐渐恢复关系的家庭故事。。2018年9月宣布新作动画制作决定，故事接续2015年版的OVA《一骑当千 Extravaganza Epoch》，标题为《一骑当千 Western Wolves》，2019年1月3日开始每月在AT-X放送，BD/DVD于2019年2月27日发售。。
