故事从上世纪60年代的江苏省江阴市华西村揭开序幕。在书记吴仁宝（尤勇 饰）的带领下，华西村人逐步走出了一条具有华西特色的社会主义致富道路。从开始的“15年规划”平整田地，到下狠心购买大磨盘，再到“顶风”开办小五金工厂，以及后来的分田到户、农副产业两手抓等等，时代的节点为华西人带来的是一次又一次的挑战和机遇，他们凭着自己的劳动和不怕吃苦的精神， 在党员老书记吴仁宝的带领下，始终走在时代的前端，最终走出了这条华西道路。。Contestants in the game move into a majestic castle and work as a team to complete a series of dramatic and challenging missions to earn money for the prize pot.
