天佑（梁朝伟饰）自幼就失去了父母，在福利院里长大。成年之后，放不下自己的身世的他决定前往出生地香港。来到香港后的天佑结识了退休医生冯宗，他进入了冯宗家里做帮佣，而王家人的出现则让天佑第一次感受到了家庭给他带来的温暖，不仅如此，王家的女儿王阿香（卢敏仪饰）和天佑之间碰撞出了激情的火花，只可惜两人碍于身份无能走到一起。 抚养天佑长大的康修女（李司棋饰）最终还是向天佑坦白了他的身世，原来，冯宗的儿子冯约礼（谢贤饰）正是天佑的亲生父亲，从前，康修女爱上了冯约礼，而她的好友容晓梅（曾庆瑜饰）亦同时爱上冯约礼，最终，荣晓梅和冯约礼有了孩子，那就是天佑。。Dr. Mortimer asks Sherlock Holmes to help protect Sir Charles Baskerville who has returned to England to take his place at the family seat following the death of his uncle, Sir Charles Baskerville.
