丹汉森是一个处处留情的保守党专栏作家，洛林布莱尔则是一个爱情专一的自由党专栏作家，两人同在巴尔的摩的太阳报工作。他们对每一件事情都有完全不同的意见，因此变成公私不分的死对头。当地一家电视台决定为他们俩专开一个节目，叫做“公说公有理，婆说婆有理”，让两个人同时上台畅谈自己的想法。随着他们的相处，以前的分歧与火药味似乎已没有那么浓，浪漫的情愫逐渐萌芽，爱情与战争之间似乎只有一线之隔……只要两人达成共识，还有什么不会发生的呢？。本片是导演扬•特洛尔1971年的名作《大移民》的续篇，两部电影均改编自Vilhelm Moberg的The Emigrants系列小说。本片取材此系列的后两部小说，The Settlers 和The Last Letter Home，讲述一批瑞典移民在19世纪中期的明尼苏达州建造家园的故事。When odd couple Jan and Kris are forced to work together to produce a podcast, they learn they are both undergoing “The Change” – aka menopause – and embark on a journey of transformation, helping each other through workplace challenges and office politics, dating and relationship drama, and some serious health concerns.
