本作は『スーパーロボット大戦』の名を冠する初のアニメーション作品である。ただし、タイトル通り版権作品の登場しない『OG』シリーズの枠の中でのリリースとなっている。『OG2』終了後の物語であり、そこで起きた「バルトール事件」をアニメ化したオリジナルストーリー。 制作会社は、TVアニメ『スーパーロボット大戦OG -ディバイン・ウォーズ-』のOLMではなくブレインズ・ベース。 ドラマCDは、OVAに登場しないキャラの物語に加え、OVA前日談とおちゃらけた後日談となっている。また、本編での説明不足の部分はかなり補足されている。。In 1968, five friends set out on a 5,000-mile road trip in a white Ford van bound for South America.
